Privacy policy
Draft · pending legal review
1. What we collect
Your name, phone number, email and travel preferences when you sign up. Hosts additionally provide their national ID number, optionally a police clearance, a selfie for liveness checks, references and proof of address. During an active booking we process messages, check-ins and, only when you press the emergency button, your live location.
2. The Privacy Shield
Hosts and guests never see each other’s phone numbers, email addresses, social media handles or home addresses before a booking is confirmed and approved. Contact details typed into chat are removed automatically. Exact GPS coordinates are hidden in chat.
3. Who can see what
Hosts cannot see other hosts’ earnings, ledgers, compliance scores or reviews. Guests cannot see platform financial ledgers or other users’ transactions. Homigo staff read a conversation only when a dispute or safety flag is raised, and every thread they open is written to an audit log.
4. Passwords and payments
Passwords are stored only as cryptographic hashes; nobody at Homigo can read them. Card and mobile money payments are processed by licensed payment partners.
5. Emergency location
When you hold the emergency button, your live location and profile are shared with the Homigo support desk and, where needed, with police, security agencies and vetted transport providers to help you.
6. Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account at any time by writing to support@homigo.ug. Some records (payments, audit logs) must be kept for legal and safety reasons.
